Dave is an adopted Vermonter. Born in Massachusetts and raised as a military kid, he spent lots of growing up time moving around on the East Coast. With the privilege of experiencing many views of differing people's perceptions of their surroundings, it became his goal to show both the physical and emotional content of the varying environments he encountered.
"I started my image making with film as the medium. The first hurdle was making an acceptable negative. Then came the realization that this was only the beginning of a long journey.
There is a lot more to it than putting out a technically correct image. You really have to have something to say. This part of the puzzle was realized in the darkroom work. A lot of one's self can be expressed in what takes place 'in the dark'. That's all well and good, but now how do you do the same kind of work with a digital image?

Although I can't give anyone a formula for success, the journey has truly begun. My hope is to bring others along for the ride and hope they have as good a time as I.
You may not be able to see what the original image was before a transformation to the finished vision takes place, but I hope my art evokes an emotional response."
