professional role as a therapist. Deborah has drawn, painted, and worked with fibers all her life. She has exhibited at the Bryan Gallery, the Emile A.Gruppe Gallery, Arts Alive, The Wood Gallery, and Basin Harbor. She has been part of the Cambridge Festival of the Arts, where she displays her hand-dyed shibori scarves and shawls for sale.

"I am drawn to the natural landscape; I love to paint en Plein air and capture the essence of a location in mood, line, form, and color. The experience of the natural world inspires my work, and transitions, space, and the movement of the elements is my fascination. I find inspiration in the beauty, colors, and patterns of nature: tracing the water markings of indigo on silk shibori, the intricate surfaces of marbeling, the flow of watercolor and ink, and the surprises of working with liquid dyes and fabrics to express this experience."
