A friend taught me to knit Icelandic wool ski hats in college and I’ve been knitting ever since. While the style, yarn, and needles have changed my passion for knitting has not.
I started KD Hill Knitwear in 1994 with my first order of 700 pairs of mittens for the Garnet Hill Catalog.

 

While it was a great way to get started I realized “production“ knitting was not for me. I wanted to knit with more colors and patterns. Now I knit for everybody, from infants to adults and not just wool but cotton, bamboo, and Tencel too.

My studio is located next to my house in Hinesburg, VT. All the knitwear is made by me. I prefer to keep it a “one-woman show”.
